This is the predominant mode used by Dorset RAYNET on the majority of our events. We utilise mobile operators including 4WD and a motorcycle unit fitted with high power VHF and UHF transceivers. A network of communications is overlaid on to the area of the event. Typically these operators are controlled from a central Control Station co-located with the User service/Organiser. In the event of greater distances we can implement repeater systems and longer range links. We have provided communications from the centre of Bath to Bournemouth on an exercise.
