2017 has seen the number of events that Dorset RAYNET increase to cover 31 operational days (or 247 man days excluding signal checks). The membership currently stands at 41 members. We continue to operate in a professional manner and are being approached by more organisations for assistance.
We have seen Ted stand down as Deputy County Controller and Alan voted in at the 2017 AGM. Adrian then regrettably stood down later in the year after a several years as County Controller so Alan assumed the role of Acting County Controller with Sherry now Acting Deputy County Controller.
A number of members have attended JESIP, loggist and Joint Responder training courses to improve our response in the event of a local disaster. Our satellite broadband system has also been brought into operation early in the year allowing us to provide Internet access to user services anywhere in Dorset.
